Six HRV frosh wrestlers go undefeated
The HRV freshman wrestling team continued to demonstrate the program’s depth with a strong showing at the Barlow Frosh/Novice Tournament Jan. 12 in Gresham. Erik Flory, Zach Bohince, Sal Fuentes, Terry Sanders, Josh McHale and Dominic Buttaccio all compiled 3-0 records on the day and won each of their matches by pin. HRV may have had seven undefeated wrestlers on the day but top 160-pounder Isiah Simmons was out with an injury. Jayde Cannon, Mike Durkan and Alex Bryan also performed well Saturday, each winning two out of three falls. “The team had another great weekend,” coach Stan Prouty said. “Having six champions who won each of their matches by pin is great. We’re improving every week.”
