The southern lane of eastbound Interstate 84 near Exit 37 will likely remain closed for another week to two weeks, said David Thompson, spokesman for the Oregon Department of Transportation.
ODOT crews will break some of the larger boulders into pieces they’ll be able to remove.
“It looks like the rock that was going to fall, has fallen,” Thompson said. “There’s still some mud and dirt, earth and trees at the top that might come down, but they won’t hit the road. Our next objective is to assess how to make sure the hillside is stable.”
