The Eagles’ varsity volleyball team is having a tough season. With four league matches at home last week, against The Dalles, Redmond, Crook County and Mountain View, the girls had their work cut out for them in front of home crowds against three of the league’s top teams.
Unfortunately, Hood River lost all four matches without winning a single set. Their league record is now 1-5.
“Obviously there are some things we need to work on,” said Coach Jennifer Baklenko. “We played great defense against Mountain View, but we couldn’t translate it into a strong offense.”
The Mountain View Cougars are currently undefeated in the Intermountain Conference. Crook County and The Dalles round off the top four teams in the conference with six league wins each.
Next up for the varsity girls is a home match on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
