HRMS damages

News staff writer

January 17, 2007

A water pipe for the sprinkler system in the ceiling of the Hood River Middle School auditorium burst on Monday afternoon and before the water to the sprinklers were shut off, extensive water damage occurred, according to Superintendent Pat Evenson-Brady. Principal Bob Dais, right, Assistant Principal Chris Daniels, left, and Community Education Director Mike Schend survey the damage. Plaster is falling from the ceiling and stage. Water ran through light fixtures and through the decorative plaster ribs in the ceiling and down to the first floor, staining the walls which were just re-plastered, and down to the basement classroom. Hood River News will carry more details in the Jan. 20 edition.
