Ambassadors for the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Small Business Showcase on March 3, at the Hood River Armory.
The yearly event provides a space where local businesses can connect with potential customers and clients looking for goods and services in the area.
Both chamber members and non-members are welcome to host a table at the event from 5-7 p.m., to display information about their business. The fee is $75 for chamber members and $185 for non-members. (Non-members can choose to apply $100 of their fee to chamber membership.) Participants receive publicity about the event through media releases, the chamber website, social media and printed materials.
The event is free and open to the public, and provides visitors a chance to learn about new and established area services and products, while giving them an opportunity to network with local company owners, entrepreneurs, and vendors. Prize drawings, product displays and announcements take place throughout the evening, and many local food vendors offer the chance to taste their fare.
The event is designed to boost networking and awareness for Hood River County businesses and is managed by the Chamber Ambassadors. The Ambassadors are an arm of the chamber comprised of volunteers who work as liaisons for chamber events, support chamber outreach and participate in community programs as chamber representatives.
"The annual Small Business Showcase gives our local businesses a chance to shine," said new Chamber Ambassador president Linda Brown from NW GraphicWorks. "It's like a Business After Hours but with lots of businesses, and it ends up being a fun community event as well."
Businesses wishing to sign up to participate in the Showcase can download an application at www.hood-river.org/events-festivals/sbs or call the chamber's event coordinator, Nancy Carlson, at 541-386-2000.
The Hood River County Chamber supports economic and tourism development for the region and provides promotional programs to its 425 members. As a countywide organization, it supports businesses, organizations and governmental agencies in Cascade Locks, Hood River, Parkdale, Odell, Pine Grove and Mount Hood.
