After winning three state championships, Katie Eddy capped her high school career with a national championship in Folkstyle.
Wrestling at the Girls Folkstyle Nationals in Oklahoma City March 24-25, where she will wrestle collegiately next year, Eddy took first in the 130-pound bracket.
Eddy had to get past several returning All-Americans in her bracket to get the win, and had to face three-time national champion Rosemary Flores of New York in the finals.
After winning her first match by a pin, the HRV senior won two matches by 5-4 and 1-0 decisions to advance to the finals.
In the final match against Flores, the two wrestlers went to overtime tied at 1-1.
In the opening round of overtime, Eddy got a takedown to win 3-1 and take the title.
After winning an individual title, Eddy took part in the team duals tournament for a draw team and won both of her matches to give her an undefeated record for the weekend.
Eddy has signed to wrestle collegiately for Oklahoma City University next year.
