The community-based Hood River Warming Shelter program opened Dec. 2 for its fourth year.
The shelter moved to Riverside Community Church, Fourth and State streets, for Dec. 9-15. Entrance is via the Sherman Street entrance, in the back of the church. Shelter hours are 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Six Hood River churches rotate as week-long hosts, through March.
People in need of a warm place to sleep are welcome at no charge. A mattress and sleeping bag are provided, along with warm nourishment and other services.
After signing in, guests are provided with rules for use, which include no smoking inside the building.
