It might be the offseason for Hood River Valley baseball, but players continue to stay sharp thanks to events like the second-annual Winter World Series. Pictured here are players Bryce Donald, Andrew Roberts, Chase Lariza, Ryan Ward, Patrick Harvey, Morgan Williams and Adam Cameron.
The indoor series finished last week with a friendly competition that ended with the team of Ward, Lariza, Harvey and Roberts — called The Average Joes — as champions among 12 teams coming from around the Gorge. In addition to the team event, HRVHS senior shortstop Ryan Colesar claimed the home run champion award.
“Our hitting league is a great way to get kids doing something that’s team-oriented and competitive on the weekends,” said Erich Harjo, Hood River Valley High School baseball coach. “We have a lot of fun.
“A big thank you to Larry Williams for organizing the hitting league, Infinite Graphix for donating the banners and parents and supporters of HRV baseball,” he said.
