The Hood River Parks and Recreation board has decided to appeal a county decision to not allow a park on Barrett Drive.
The Park District Board voted Wednesday night to appeal the Board of Commission decision to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) and will be releasing a "fact sheet" on the history of the Barrett Park plan after the next board meeting on Sept. 19.
The 30-acre park, which would have been situated on high value farmland, was approved by the Hood River County planning commission earlier this summer.
However, local orchadist Fritz von Lubken appealed the decision to the County Commission, which overturned the planning commission's approval of the park.
