The family of John Roberts writes:
“Simple words cannot express our gratitude. We can only try.
“We thank God for our inner circle of friends. Thank you for dropping off food at the hospital for our large clan at all hours of the day (and night), chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the oven; late night talks and midnight walks, sitting with us through the long days and nights; funny jokes to break the tension; loving hugs to nurse fragile hearts and the gift of extra time, exceptionally well spent, with Dad.
“Dad has the most awesome collection of friends. We have decided that our legacy to Dad will be to mimic his example by making a conscious choice to fully live life, every day and in every way, just the way that he did. Make time for family, fishing, flying and friends. The order doesn’t really matter.
“A special thanks to the pilots who made Dad’s service, and his life, truly memorable. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
“There are so many people to thank that it would be impossible to do so by paper. Please know that we read each of your emails and letters, and that each one will be forever treasured.
Thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Providence Hood River. Little did we know that, along with exceptional medical care for Dad, we would be the recipients of a wealth of emotional and spiritual pampering and unlimited access to your private stash of coffee. You are amazing.”
