Pint Night benefits Relay for Life July 17
It’s the Relay for Life Pint Night — a benefit for the American Cancer Society and Hood River’s Relay for Life Rotary Team on Wednesday, July 17, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Full Sail Tasting Room and Pub. Full Sail presents ‘Faria’s Clara’
July is Oregon Craft Beer Month and to celebrate Full Sail Brewing will release a new beer in its Brewer’s Share Experimental lineup: “Faria’s Clara,” helles lager crafted by brewer Francisco Farias Martinez.
Full Sail has scheduled a “Meet the Brewers and the Beer” event the Hood River Tasting Room and Pub on July 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Join the Full Sail crew to celebrate Oregon Craft Beer Month and toast a pint of Francisco’s new brew.
With each Brewer’s Share series beer, Full Sail picks a local charity to receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer. Francisco has chosen to support the Hood River Valley Adult Center Meals on Wheels Sponsor a Senior program. Every keg of Francisco’s lager benefits this organization.
Richard Wilkins at Naked Winery
On Saturday, July 20, it’s the Richard Wilkins Blues Band at The Naked Winery in Hood River from 8-11 p.m. The band promises to “squeeze a five-piece blues band into a space the size of your living room couch, so you have room to move at the big summer dance party.” Naked Winery, 102 Second St., Hood River; 800-666-9303.
‘Eve and Emily’ debuts July 24
The Mt. Hood Independent film series continues on Wednesday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbia Center for the Arts. with a preview screening of local filmmaker Daniel McCabe’s first feature length film “Eve and Emily.” “Eve and Emily” was produced entirely in Hood River.
This interpersonal drama takes place over a twelve hour period as Eve and John invite Emily and Paul to their house for a dinner party. Eve, a prominent local lawyer, has recently hired Paul to join her firm. John, Eve’s husband, is retired at a young age for reasons that are kept hidden. Emily, the young and beautiful wife of Paul, is struggling to find her place in her new surroundings. Difficulties in these relationships are exposed as the four characters come together for dinner one summer night in Hood River. Daniel McCabe will be present to introduce the movie. This film is not rated, run time is 82 minutes. Columbia Arts is located at 215 Cascade Ave. in Hood River.
