Below is a list of fundraiser activities taking place in the Gorge, starting with Friday evening’s Lila May fundraiser and featuring four more this weekend.

Oct. 11 — Lila May fundraiser, 6-8 p.m. at 5th Element Salon, 16 Oak St., Ste. 201, HR. Lila May is a 3-year-old with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer undergoing treatment at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at OHSU. Silent auction, food, drinks and lots of fun. To donate call 541-386-6555.
Oct. 12 — Columbia River Gorge Party in Pink Zumbathon charity event, 9-10:30 a.m. at Westside Elementary School. Licensed Zumba Fitness instructors from all parts of the Columbia River Gorge will gather to help raise funds for a Zumba global research grant for breast cancer prevention. This year’s goal is to reach $1 million.
Oct. 12 — Table of Friends, a fundraiser for The Next Door Inc.’s New Parent Services, 5:30-10 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar Winery. This year’s theme is “It’s a Jungle Out There,” and attendees are encouraged to dress up and go wild. The benefit will feature a live dessert auction, where tables of attendees bid together to win desserts which have been donated by local eateries. A “Table of Friends” is eight friends, family members or co-workers who purchase individual tickets for $45 or reserve the entire table of eight for $360. Tickets may be purchased at the Hood River office located at 965 Tucker Road or by calling 541-386-6665. Oct. 12 — WINGS Hoe-Down, 6-10 p.m. at the Hood River Armory. Funds raised benefit WINGS, the Hood River program that offers homeless 18-23-year-old men from the Gorge housing, work, life skills, continuing education and all types of support. This fun-filled “Friend Maker” offers barbecue, wine and beer, dancing and an auction. Tickets are $50 ($30 of which is tax-deductible) and are available at www.getwings.com or at the door. Oct. 13 — Benefit event for Owen Stolte, local student athlete who was diagnosed with bone cancer in July, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Salon Visio, 708 Oak St. in Hood River. Stylists from Salon Visio and other salons will be cutting hair, and there will also be food, drinks and raffle items. Funds raised will help with travel expenses for his chemotherapy at OHSU, and help his mom take time off from work.
Oct. 16 — Paws for a Cause, a silent auction and social to benefit HR Adopt A Dog, 5-8 p.m. at The Gallery at 301 in downtown Hood River. Appetizers by Boda’s Kitchen; live music by The Groove Project; cash bar. Tickets are $20 adults, $5 kids (please supervise); available at Gorge Dog and Adopt A Dog or at the door. Nov. 15 — The 17th annual Gala Fashion Show to benefit the Hood River County Christmas Project, 7 p.m. at the Best Western Hood River Inn. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
