Artisan ciders will be the main attraction at Hood River Chamber of Commerce’s first Hard-Pressed Cider Fest on Saturday, April 12. This event is an opportunity for seasoned and novice cider drinkers alike to sample cider from Hood River County’s very own cider makers as well as a variety of additional Northwest cideries (check in at hoodriver.org/hard-pressed-cider-fest for cider list). A menu of local cuisines, produce and arts vendors, a kid’s area, and a local line-up of music from bluegrass to classic rock, guarantees a great time for the whole family.
The fest runs from noon to 6 p.m. and will be held in Odell at Mt. Defiance Fruit, 3351 Stadelman Drive. Also on hand will be local cuisine, from smoked barbecue to American pub fare to gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. Attendees may pre-purchase tickets at Brown Paper Tickets to secure quick entry into the event.
Admission for those 21 and over is $10 and includes cider glass and four taste tokens. For those 20 and under and designated drivers, admission is free.
“We are very excited about the expanding cider industry in the area, the Cider Fest is an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the art of cider making. We hope to see the event grow exponentially in the next few years.” said Ashley Huckaby May, event coordinator of the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the event.
