Mosier Schools holds its biggest fundraiser of the year today — the Made for Mosier Art Auction and Gala.
As a charter school, Mosier gets 80 percent of its funding from the state and county, with the rest coming from fundraisers. The goal is to raise at least $30,000 at this gala.
This annual event is a bit different this year because it will feature a dance band and auctioning of special art to launch the Ellen Dittebrandt Memorial Art Fund — money that will be used for art supplies and an artists in residency program at Mosier School in honor of beloved former Mosier resident Ellen.
Made for Mosier Art Auction and Gala goes from 5:30-10 p.m. at Springhouse Cellars. Admission is $30 a person, for appetizers and desserts, a drink ticket, and music and dancing.
Funkship Columbia will play two sets. The silent auction will feature more than 100 items and a live auction includes art from Mosier school kids and local artisans.
This year includes the launch of the Ellen Dittebrandt Memorial Art Fund, including the chance to bid on two unique photographic prints of Ellen’s. Details at www.madeformosier.com. Tickets can be purchased at Waucoma Books or online.
