Builders and the Butchers at River City Oct. 29

Paste Magazine says “The Builders and the Butchers’ musical output is something of a Pentecostal throw-down — the musical underpinnings are reminiscent of bluegrass, but the performances are raw and unschooled, with Ryan Sollee in particular throwing off a maniacally ecclesiastical sort of energy…dark, sparkling, Leadbelly-like terrain covered by death-fixated epics…”

Catch them in Hood River on Thursday, Oct. 29, starting at 10 p.m. $5 cover charge. River City Saloon, 207 Cascade Ave., Hood River; 541-387-2583.
