The Columbia Gorge United Way Masquerade Ball happens Sept. 22 at Best Western Plus Hood River Inn, and while the event is expected to be sold out, a few seats may be available by emailing email@example.com or calling 541-386-6100.
Masquerade proceeds go to agencies supported each year by United Way.
In addition to food and cocktails, the event features a silent and live auction filled with luxury trips, art and one-of-a-kind experiences. Also featured are 200 masks made by local Gorge students with Arts in Education of the Gorge. Students and some adults created the masks in classes and community gatherings around the Gorge in spring and summer 2016.
Live auction items include a painting party with Hood River artist Mark Nilsson for 12 people, use of a home in Cortona, Tuscany, Italy, a wine, dine and blues event at Hood Crest Winery for 12, and stays in Maui and New Orleans.
Silent auction items include a margarita garden party for up to 100, original southern seafood boil for 12, Peter Marbach “Photographing the Gorge” half-day class, and a Sakura Ridge tasting and treats.
Aaron Meyer holiday concert in Portland with Hilton stay, original paintings and pottery, a children’s tractor, salon certificate, photography session, and club level Blazer seats with food and parking.
