Leos collect bottles May 6
The Hood River Leos group holds its monthly bottles and cans collection May 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the south side of the Rosauers parking lot on 12th Street. Deposits will benefit the Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team that's headed to Nationals.
HR Council postpones meeting to May 11
Hood River City Council has rescheduled its May 8 meeting to May 11 at 6 p.m., due to council members’ scheduling conflicts.
City Council Chambers are located at 211 Second Street, Hood River.
‘Immigration 101’ set for May 9
“Immigration 101” class will be May 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
It is sponsored by Gorge Ecumenical Ministries (GEM).
It will feature immigration attorney MariRuth Petzing from the Hood River office of the non-profit Immigration Counseling Service.
“The event is designed for everyone who wants to learn about our immigration system and be a better-informed member of this diverse community,” said Rev. Vicky Stifter, GEM’s chairperson.
