Along the white salmon river, these chunks of coal ranging in size from crumbs to golf balls were collected from under the railroad bridge where the White Salmon flows into the Columbia. While Columbia Riverkeeper and other conservation groups are threatening a lawsuit over such coal, Burlington Northern calls the threat “a nuisance lawsuit without merit.”
